We moved to Carmel a year ago and hadn’t had the opportunity to experience this cuisine yet. We loved the food and atmosphere. I was searching for a recipe similar and I came across your recipe. Thanks so much for publishing. I will try it soon.

I was searching for this recipe for ‘fish in paper’ and came across this site and to my amazement you said that it came from the FLYING FISH GRILL. Well here’s the catcher –I live in FLYING FISH POINT, QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA.
Well now for the cooking.

Kind regards.
Andris.

I’m opening up a blog and I’ve started rather varied content. Do you object if I write something about this article? Of course I will give you and this site full credit and place a link to this page :D.

I didn’t try to replicate this one, primarily because i already knew how it tasted like 😉 I believe, Flying fish uses a small teaspoon of fermented black bean sauce on top of their fish. If I am not mistaken everything else is more or less identical. To me this recipe is all about cabbage and shitake and how they flavor the fish. I made a few more variations recently, adding fresh ginger and serrano peppers as well – both turned out excellent.
